Governance of the content
- 2.1 The Nexus Standards are developed through an open process. Technical committees and working groups draft; the Global Standards Council (GSC) adopts each standard after public last call; the Secretariat maintains the records and publishes.
- 2.2 The programme is stewarded by three independent not-for-profit institutions: GCRI Canada, Global Risk Forum (GRF) and Global Risk Alliance (GRA). Each is a separate legal person; their cooperation creates no partnership, joint venture or agency between them.
- 2.3 In each participating country, the National Standards Council (NSC) of the National Nexus Consortium (NNC) decides on adoption, adaptation or reference in its jurisdiction. National law and language prevail, and the Global Standards Council has no veto over a national decision.
Status of the institutions
- 3.1 Nothing on the Sites confers governmental or intergovernmental status, regulatory authority, privileges or immunities on GCRI Canada or any body of the Nexus Standards, or waives any state's immunities, powers or laws.
- 3.2 The Nexus Standards are not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any standards body, government, data provider or organisation named on the Sites. External standards, names and marks belong to their stewards and are cited by identifier and link for reference only.
Licences and marks
- 4.1 Unless stated otherwise, the text, registries, schemas and data of the Nexus Standards are licensed under CC BY 4.0, and reference code under Apache-2.0, from the date of public release. Names and marks are not licensed by those licences; see the Trademark and Name Use Policy and the Licensing and IPR page.
- 4.2 Imagery, data, fonts and code libraries of third parties are credited where they are shown and remain under their providers' terms; see the Third-party notices.

Status and use. The Nexus Standards are proposed standards developed through an open process under NS-13 and published for voluntary use; they do not constitute certification, accreditation or regulatory approval, and adoption remains a decision of the Global Standards Council and, in each country, of its National Standards Council. A UNI (Unique Nexus Identifier) identifies an artifact; it does not certify it. Names of standards bodies and their standards belong to their stewards and are used only to identify the documents; no text of an external standard is reproduced here. Nexus Standards is not affiliated with, endorsed by or certified by any standards body named here.
Licences: CC BY 4.0 for standards text, registries, schemas and data; Apache-2.0 for reference code. External standards are cited by name, number and link under their own licences. Third-party data, libraries and fonts keep their own licences: see Third-party notices.
