Early Warning and Anticipatory Action

A warning helps only if it reaches people with time to act and if the action it triggers was agreed in advance. This subsite relates alerting protocols, hydrometeorological services and anticipatory-action triggers so that a forecast, a message and a release of funds can be traced to one another. Every artifact of these areas carries a UNI (Unique Nexus Identifier), which identifies and never certifies.

01Context map

An example geography for this subsite.

Open Earth observation layers framed on southeast asia, as an example geography for early warning and anticipatory action: context for where its records live, never an assessment and never a statement of where the standards apply. Layers, dates and credits are on the map.

The interactive map needs JavaScript; the layer list and sources are below.

03Live feeds

11 sources named by the areas, every one honest about admission.

Provider, licence, delivery path and register status for each source. A source is live on a public page only after an owner decision admits it; until then it reads pending admission.

No legal register row admits any of these sources for live display on public pages yet, so nothing is read from them here. A register row that exists records the source for the governed GRIx path; admission for public pages is a separate owner decision.

07Readiness

What GCRI Canada and the two institutions read here.

GCRI Canada evidence pathway

GCRI Canada

Early warning and anticipatory action · GCRI Canada may admit trigger and activation records with verification statistics as research evidence on anticipatory action; GCRI Canada decides under its own evidence and research rules, and no approval is implied.

Alerting and messaging · GCRI Canada analyses warning performance only from CAP records whose sender, identifier and status can be verified.

WMO and hydrometeorological services · GCRI Canada decides under its own evidence rules whether hydromet-derived records are usable; describing WMO systems is not acceptance.

Recognition pathway

The Global Risks Forum (GRF)

Early warning and anticipatory action · GRF may record agencies publishing warnings and triggers on the shared profiles as part of the Early Warnings for All dialogue; GRF decides under its own recognition rules, and no recognition or endorsement is implied.

Alerting and messaging · GRF recognises early-warning contributions that hand candidates to the competent authority, not those that issue warnings themselves.

WMO and hydrometeorological services · The Global Risks Forum (GRF) decides under its own rules how early-warning work features in its programmes; this section implies no recognition.

Open the Recognition pathway

Capital pathway

The Global Risks Alliance (GRA)

Early warning and anticipatory action · GRA may read trigger skill and activation records when it considers pre-arranged finance; GRA decides under its own capital-readiness rules, and no approval, rating or investment view is implied.

Alerting and messaging · GRA links parametric triggers to official alert records only through the authority's published messages.

WMO and hydrometeorological services · The Global Risks Alliance (GRA) decides capital readiness under its own criteria; warning-coverage records only inform its reviewers' view of preparedness.

Open the Capital pathway

Each institution decides under its own rules what it reads as evidence; no pathway is an approval, a readiness statement or investment advice.

Help build Early Warning and Anticipatory Action.

  1. 01

    Charter a working group

Pick an area above, adopt its proposed charter and file it as a docket under NS-13; editors decide with written reasons. Develop a standard

  2. 02

Correct or extend an area brief

Every area entry is PROPOSED: a pull request against the area context bank names the change and its source, peer-reviewed or published statistics.

  3. 03

    Name a source

Propose a feed with provider, licence and delivery path; Legal/IP records the terms and the owner decides admission. Agents never admit a source.

  4. 04

    Take part at the body

Contribute to an external standard through its own body's channels; the outcome comes back here as a register change. Movement and contribution

13Questions

Questions and answers.

Is Early Warning and Anticipatory Action a live subsite?
The owner created it in WordPress; its pages publish as drafts once the owner gives the go. The name is owner-confirmed.
Where do the areas come from?
From the area context bank, one PROPOSED entry per area written as an expert would brief a working group, sourced to published statistics and peer-reviewed references; the Nexus Standards lane owns the canonical registry.
Are any feeds live here?
No. Every feed reads pending admission until an owner decision admits it for public pages.
