Space and Earth Observation

Satellites observe every other system and depend on a space environment that can itself fail. This subsite relates the Earth observation, geospatial and space-sector standards, with STAC as its worked package, so that imagery and the maps derived from it carry their provenance. Every artifact of these areas carries a UNI (Unique Nexus Identifier), which identifies and never certifies.

05Worked package

STAC: one package of pages for one open standard.

The register entry for STAC with the body's process to play, the clause map, the crosswalk, adoption, channels, deploy cards and the live-updates plate (pending admission). Names of standards bodies and their standards belong to their stewards and are used only to identify the documents; no text of an external standard is reproduced here.

06Live feeds

12 sources named by the areas, every one honest about admission.

Provider, licence, delivery path and register status for each source. A source is live on a public page only after an owner decision admits it; until then it reads pending admission.

Every feed · pending admission

No legal register row admits any of these sources for live display on public pages yet, so nothing is read from them here. A register row that exists records the source for the governed GRIx path; admission for public pages is a separate owner decision.

07Readiness

What GCRI Canada and the two institutions read here.

GCRI Canada evidence pathway

GCRI Canada

Space industry · Orbital, debris and space-weather impact records with provenance become readable as evidence for GCRI Canada research under its own rules.

UNOOSA and space · GCRI Canada decides under its own evidence rules whether EO-derived and space records are usable; describing UNOOSA's work is not acceptance.

Geospatial and Earth observation · GCRI Canada accepts EO-derived evidence only with STAC lineage to source scenes, the processing baseline and a validation record.

1 more areas state what this pathway reads; each area page has its own line.

Open the GCRI Canada evidence pathway

Recognition pathway

The Global Risks Forum (GRF)

Space industry · An operator that publishes sustainability clauses and attestations gives GRF a record trail to consider; nothing is recognised by adoption.

UNOOSA and space · The Global Risks Forum (GRF) decides under its own rules how space work features in its programmes; this section implies no recognition.

Geospatial and Earth observation · GRF recognises national geospatial programmes on published, open-licence catalogues aligned with the IGIF pathways.

1 more areas state what this pathway reads; each area page has its own line.

Open the Recognition pathway

Capital pathway

The Global Risks Alliance (GRA)

Space industry · Space infrastructure projects can present verified debris-mitigation and continuity records to GRA, which assesses capital readiness under its own rules.

UNOOSA and space · The Global Risks Alliance (GRA) decides capital readiness under its own criteria; EO records only inform its reviewers.

Geospatial and Earth observation · GRA requires exposure and hazard layers to state resolution, boundary source and area-weighting before they inform any capital-readiness view.

1 more areas state what this pathway reads; each area page has its own line.

Each institution decides under its own rules what it reads as evidence; no pathway is an approval, a readiness statement or investment advice.

09Working groups

4 working-group charters proposed, none chartered yet.

Each area proposes a working group with a scope, deliverables and liaison targets; a liaison is sought, never claimed, until the body confirms it in writing.

10Contribute

Help build Space and Earth Observation.

  1. 01

    Charter a working group

Pick an area above, adopt its proposed charter and file it as a docket under NS-13; editors decide with written reasons. Develop a standard

  2. 02

Correct or extend an area brief

Every area entry is PROPOSED: a pull request against the area context bank names the change and its source, peer-reviewed or published statistics.

  3. 03

    Name a source

Propose a feed with provider, licence and delivery path; Legal/IP records the terms and the owner decides admission. Agents never admit a source.

  4. 04

    Take part at the body

Contribute to an external standard through its own body's channels; the outcome comes back here as a register change. Movement and contribution

14Questions

Questions and answers.

Is Space and Earth Observation a live subsite?
The owner created it in WordPress; its pages publish as drafts once the owner gives the go. The name is owner-confirmed.
Where do the areas come from?
From the area context bank, one PROPOSED entry per area written as an expert would brief a working group, sourced to published statistics and peer-reviewed references; the Nexus Standards lane owns the canonical registry.
Are any feeds live here?
No. Every feed reads pending admission until an owner decision admits it for public pages.
