Supply chain and trade risk

Global production networks transmit local shocks worldwide, as shown by the 2011 Japan earthquake, the pandemic and chokepoint closures, yet supplier networks beyond the first tier are mostly invisible. This section of the Industry, trade and supply chains subsite sets records for supplier networks, chokepoints, trade measures and disruption events so that firms and governments map propagation paths with evidence and confidentiality controls. Every artifact of the area carries a UNI (Unique Nexus Identifier), which identifies and never certifies.

01Scope

Supply chain and trade risk: what the area covers, and what it leaves to others.

The risk disciplines section of Industry, Trade and Supply Chains. Scope as the area context entry states it (PROPOSED).

In scope 5

  • Supplier network records with confidentiality levels
  • Chokepoint and logistics node records
  • Trade measure and restriction records
  • Disruption event records with propagation
  • Critical input dependency records

Out of scope 3

  • Customs procedures
  • Trade negotiation positions
  • Procurement contracts

Jurisdictions No jurisdiction note is recorded for this area yet; jurisdiction narrows what applies and never implies that a Nexus profile satisfies a law.

02Systemic couplings

4 couplings to other areas and subsites.

Each coupling names the mechanism that links this area to another; select a card on the canvas to trace it. Mechanisms are stated in the context bank (PROPOSED).

Supply chain and trade risk: systemic couplingsThe couplings the area context bank records for Supply chain and trade risk: 0 areas in Industry, Trade and Supply Chains, 4 areas in other subsites and 4 subsites reached. Each coupling carries a mechanism stated in the context bank (PROPOSED); a reading aid, not a dependency proof.

05Open standards

4 open standards, each with its relation.

Relations are register entries (NS-14), never conformance or equivalence statements; hover or focus a relation for its meaning. Names of standards bodies and their standards belong to their stewards and are used only to identify the documents; no text of an external standard is reproduced here.

09Readiness

What each pathway can read from this area.

Recognition pathway

The Global Risks Forum (GRF)

GRF may record firms and governments sharing chokepoint records as a dialogue item; GRF decides under its own recognition rules, and no recognition or endorsement is implied.
